yes, today's post is on music. if you've got no clue on what to get for your CD collection, here are some suggestions:
1. Incubus - Make Yourselfhighly recommended. on this record you can find songs like Drive, and Pardon Me. a must have. great vocals too. a mix between nice electronica (courtesy of the guitarist and deejay) and heavy guitar riffs. syncopated singing makes them a band that'll stand out among others.
2. John Mayer - Room For Squaresa student from berkley music school (i think, or some prestigious school
la). great songs include Why Georgia and Neon. smooth bass lines make the songs funky and his laid back tone make it a nice chill-out CD.
3. Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Californicationone of the greatest records of all time, period. listen out for Parallel Universe and Get On Top. all four members are highly, superbly, extremely great musicians and their creativity knows no end. just check out their concert recordings for impromtu jam sessions onstage and improvisations galore. slap bass rocks.
4. Keane - Hopes and Fearsunparalleled vocal range! great stuff! he could do a little work with his breathing though. sounds
waaaaaay too loud on record.simplicity is the key in this band, and makes a great sing-a-long record (like what my mum does in the car) and a benchmark for future british bands.
5. Coldplay - A Rush of Blood to the Headsadly, i lost this CD a few years ago, but the songs have stuck in my head for a long, long time. Clocks, and A Rush of Blood to the Head are beautiful tracks, (the cd sleeve is a plus too). sit back, soak up, and enjoy...
